Originally built as the entertainment centre of the home, this authentic 1930s Vintage Radio Cabinet has been reconfigured into a multi-functional statement storage piece for contemporary living. Crafted from dense aged teak with contrasting ebonised framing, the piece brings rich historic character and machine-age geometry into an living room or compact lounge.
The facade retains its original acoustic architecture, featuring a lower speaker grille with carved, vertical ebonised louvres and side acoustic vents. The fragile period speaker mesh behind the front louvres has been replaced with solid aged teak paneling, creating a clean, dust-free interior while preserving the bold relief of the front elevation. Ebonised corner stiles, a stepped plinth base, and a molded serpentine top edge frame the natural wood grain.
Thoughtfully converted for everyday modern utility, the Vintage Radio Cabinet offers flexible dual-sided and top access. The hinged flip-top lid lifts on brass stays for top-down access into the upper tier, while a front swing door and a pair of rear panel doors open into three internal shelf levels. It transitions effortlessly into a dedicated spirits bar, glassware cupboard, or media unit—blending authentic Art Deco design with practical storage.
