This original Round Side Table is a genuine vintage piece that reflects the Dutch Colonial (Indische Empire) aesthetic of the early 20th century. Handcrafted entirely from solid aged teak wood, this table showcases rich material quality and artisanal carving.
The design is defined by its robust, sculpted base. The central pillar features a prominent Barley Twist or spiral turned leg—a classic Dutch Colonial design motif—which transitions into finely turned concentric rings at the pedestal base. This elaborate turning contrasts subtly with the simplicity of the solid circular top, a characteristic feature of tables from this period.
This piece was hand-made by a master artisan, showcasing the precision required for its detailed turning and joinery. Its compact size makes it versatile, serving perfectly as a dedicated lamp stand, a functional drinks table, or a striking accent piece in the modern living room or study.
