Description
This coffee table captures the core virtues of midcentury design—a streamlined silhouette, visual airiness, and an understated minimalism achieved through a clean interplay of lines. Presenting a considered meeting of East and West, the form pays homage to the floating planes popularized by Danish modernist masters like Finn Juhl, interpreted here through generations of Asian craftsmanship tradition and rendered entirely in solid teak.
The defining silhouette unfolds at each narrow end: rather than resting flush on the chassis, the thick tabletop hovers above hand-shaped, bridge-like timber risers. This intentional gap lets light pass directly beneath the surface, accentuating the undercut, chamfered edges of the wood top and enhancing its weightless quality.
Below, slender tapered legs terminate in softly domed capitals, framed by an integrated lower slatted rack for books and magazines that reinforces the table's linear, see-through structure. Finished to highlight the beautiful wood grain, it pairs Midcentury openness with the warmth and durability of solid old-growth teak.
