Description

Distinguished by an upright silhouette and sculpted timber joinery, this 1960s high-back lounge chair balances supportive posture with tactile craft. Its tall, gently reclined backrest and deep seat cushion are tailored in a multi-tonal textured weave—blending rust, ochre, indigo, and terracotta threads into a dense, heathered upholstery.

The defining gesture is the pair of organic shaped teak armrests. Shaped from solid timber, each arm sweeps cleanly out from the backrest in a continuous parabolic curve before tapering into a smooth, flattened palm rest. Below, the slender front upright flows downward to terminate in a soft teardrop bracket anchored directly to the seat rail, keeping the timber profile visually light against the upholstered shell.

Underneath, the Midcentury Modern Armchair rests on round, splayed teak pencil legs that pitch outward to give the tall seat a stable, grounded stance off the floor. Sized to sit comfortably in a reading corner, study, or living space, it pairs quiet mid-century character with the warmth of sculpted solid wood.
