Description
Defined by curved waterfall shoulders and an upright, compact silhouette, this Art Deco Sideboard channels the aerodynamic styling of 1930s Streamline Moderne.
The primary graphic draw is the set of vertical speed lines running down all four cabinet doors. Each dimensional relief bar is carved entirely by hand directly from solid teak, creating sharp shadow lines and distinct vertical rhythm across the wood grain. Overhead, the silhouette curves seamlessly down into the flanks to give the top a continuous, smooth outline.
Anchoring the piece are four thick, fanned-out ziggurat feet. Hand-shaped with stepped architectural profiles, they splay diagonally outward from each corner to broaden the cabinet's footprint and ground its stance. The facade balances a central double cabinet with flanking tiers of twin drawers and lower bottle cupboards, punctuated by turned brass button pulls, external knuckle hinges, and original keyhole escutcheons.
Compact in dimension yet defined by exceptional hand-carved joinery, it serves naturally as an entryway accent, dining server, or small-scale drinks cabinet.
