Description
This original vintage Art Deco Sideboard balances an asymmetric, split-level profile with the aerodynamic curves of 1930s Streamline Moderne design. Handcrafted from solid aged teak, the piece is defined by its rounded corner shoulders and a stepped composition that transitions smoothly between open staging, protected display, and concealed storage.
The focal point of the cabinet is the elevated glass display section on the right, capped by a curved roofline. Its glazed door is detailed with applied carved speedline fretwork—two vertical pill-shaped bars that drop into a corner panel with an intersecting horizontal rail, echoing early machine-age Art Deco graphic motifs. Inside, three shelved tiers offer framed visibility for glassware, ceramics, or spirits.
To the left, the lower section provides an open prep alcove beneath a curved upper ledge, sitting directly above a pair of shallow drawers and a two-door base cupboard. Fitted with rounded brass knobs and grounded on a solid recessed plinth with block feet, the sideboard functions effortlessly as a coffee station, dining room server, or compact dry bar.
