Description

The Art Deco Curio Vitrine with Rounded Tiered Molding records the stylistic pivot where the rigid structures of the Dutch Colonial period began to transition to the aerodynamic curves of Streamline Moderne. This original 1920s vintage piece is defined by deep, cylindrical tiered moulding—a detail that traces the upper and lower boundaries of the frame and references the industrial silhouettes of early luxury travel.

Handcrafted from solid aged teak, the vitrine is conceived as a transparent vessel, utilizing full-height glass panels on all sides to allow light to permeate the internal volumes. This transparency emphasizes the matured grain of the aged teak while ensuring the cabinet functions as a quiet, authoritative frame for a collection.

Despite its physical scale, the silhouette maintains a deliberate lightness; an open-shelf base creates a break from the floor, introducing negative space that prevents the unit from becoming an imposing monolith.

In a contemporary living space, the piece serves as a sophisticated landmark for objects of value.
