Description
Originating from pre-war Java, this full-length dressing mirror pairs solid teak construction with the sharp, graphic silhouettes of 1920s Art Deco. The frame is distinguished by ebonised detailing: three stepped crests rise along the top rail, mirrored by matching stepped detail accents at the side posts—a direct reference to jazz-age skyscraper architecture translated into cabinetry.
The bevelled mirror plate is suspended between the uprights on original knurled brass swivel pins, allowing the glass to tilt and hold its angle for a full-length view. Below the glass, a lower inset panel is framed by a slim ebonised border and centered with a carved motif that anchors the base of the frame.
The unit rests on thick, arched bridge feet fitted with original period metal casters for easy repositioning across a bedroom or dressing space. Well-preserved and cleanly detailed, it functions as a distinct, practical accent that brings early 20th-century character into a modern interior.
