Art Deco Sideboard

This original Art Deco Sideboard is a spectacular statement piece, expertly handcrafted from solid old teak wood. Dating from the circa 1920s–1930s, its design powerfully translates architectural principles into furniture.

The structure is defined by bold, rectilinear symmetry, culminating in a distinctive stepped plinth or ziggurat silhouette that references the iconic Art Deco skyscrapers of the era. The piece’s balanced rhythm is established through the frequent use of the Rule of Three in its composition and panel arrangement.

The façade features a sophisticated play of geometry and texture:

• Outer Doors: Display powerful Geometric Relief Paneling created by sets of protruding vertical lines. These are an interpretation of "Speed Lines," a signature Art Deco motif used to evoke the dynamism and energy of the Machine Age.
• Central Doors: Showcase a beautiful stylized geometric motif consisting of a vertical line anchoring half-circle shapes at the top and bottom.

Above these doors is a practical display compartment accessed by a sliding glass pane, ideal for showcasing curated objects or glassware. The clean aesthetic is maintained throughout by the use of simple, original wooden handles that blend seamlessly with the aged teak.

This substantial sideboard offers excellent storage and display utility, making it a powerful and elegant visual anchor for any dining room or living area.
