The Art Deco Cabinet With Vintage Coloured Glass is an authentic piece, dating between the 1920s and 1930s. This cabinet beautifully encapsulates the refined architectural forms of the era. Handcrafted in Java from solid aged teak wood, it represents a skillful blend of East and West, where robust local construction meets European design influences.
The cabinet’s top features striking recessed reeding, a geometric moulding detail popular in Art Deco design that creates a rhythmic shadow line. Its character is further defined by unique original vintage glass panels. This includes frosted glass in the centre and panels of vivid, geometric green patterned glass on either side. The green glass has a distinct floral pattern with a pebble texture, which disperses light beautifully. The cabinet rests upon a solid plinth base with a subtly shaped apron.
Behind the single swing door, four ample shelves provide versatile storage. This cabinet is perfectly suited for use as a linen press, liquour cabinet, or a dedicated bookcase for cherished volumes, offering both privacy behind the lower panel and visual interest behind the coloured glass.
