Description
This original Art Deco Double-Sided Cabinet, dating from the 1920s–1930s, exemplifies the period's commitment to bold, functional geometry. Handcrafted from solid aged teak wood, it blends the architectural form of the West with the robust Javanese craftsmanship.
The cabinet’s unique silhouette is defined by its sculptural, double-sided design. It features a deep, protruding semi-circular shelf set high on the frame, complete with a handcrafted pull handle on its underside. This striking curve is mirrored by a similar protruding semi-circular shelf near the base, creating a highly symmetrical and geometric profile. The beautiful grain and rich patina of the aged teak add warmth to the strict lines.
Designed for practicability and flexibility, this piece functions primarily as a sophisticated room divider. With open shelves on both ends, it is ideally suited for maximizing light flow and providing double-sided access for books, display memorabilia, and decorative objects.
