These Midcentury Modern Chairs are a sophisticated nod to the Norwegian "Westnofa" era of furniture design, specifically the rhythmic, bent-wood designs of Ingmar Relling and Giske Carlsen. While the silhouette pays homage to the iconic 'Siesta' style chair, the frame is hand-built by Asian craftsmen using tropical hardwood. This artisanal approach replaces the common laminated veneers of the period with a heavy, structural permanence and a beautiful wood grain.
The architecture is defined by its signature curved-in base—a continuous, parabolic form that provides a structural spring and a sense of visual bounce. The design utilizes a suspended silhouette, where the reupholstered PU leather seat is cradled within the timber skeleton.
