Description
Hand-carved with a dimensional weight reminiscent of 1930s building friezes, the facade of the Art Deco Cabinet with Geometric Details is defined by a rhythmic chevron relief. These protruding chevrons act as sculptural projections, transforming the solid teak doors into a play of shadow and volume that shifts as it catches the light.
The geometry is further sharpened by horizontal moulded lines that segment the frame, grounding the piece in the rigorous symmetry of the era. The entire volume rests upon tiered pedestal feet—a layered, stepped plinth that adds a sense of ceremony to its low-slung profile.
While the interior provides a functional sanctuary for personal possessions, the exterior allows the raw, honeyed character of the aged teak to take centre stage. Positioned as a substantial sideboard, the cabinet serves as a structural anchor for the living room, allowing the warmth of the historical timber to define the space.
