Description
This original vintage small desk is a stunning, one-of-a-kind example of Midcentury Modern design, expertly handcrafted from old teak wood in Java. Dating from the 1950s–1960s, the desk captures the era's focus on functional asymmetry and structural elegance, echoing the sophisticated aesthetic of masters like Jens Risom and George Nelson.
Built from old, dense teak, it showcases a rich, deep patina and beautiful grain that only decades of natural aging can achieve. Its unique asymmetrical silhouette is anchored by a stylized upright structural post on the left side, which supports both the floating desktop and the upper storage compartment.
The design is both practical and stylish, offering versatile storage in a compact footprint: the main body features a total of four seamless drawers on the right pedestal, providing secure organization, while the upper structure features open shelves perfect for books, files, or display items. This vintage teak desk is ideal for a modern home office, providing a rare and architectural focal point that combines functionality with the enduring quality of Javanese craftsmanship.
