Description
This original 1950s cabinet relies on a rigorous, symmetrical silhouette to create the effect of "floating" storage. The design is anchored by a reeded timber frieze that runs along the upper edge of the lower section—a tactile, convex detail that introduces a rhythmic shadow line to the otherwise streamlined facade.
By separating the two primary volumes with slender cylindrical pillars, the piece maintains an airy, architectural profile that organizes a room without crowding it. The cabinetry balances open visibility with grounded utility. The lower section features a solid teak door with a tapered, hand-carved pull, offering a sculptural contrast to the expansive glass frontage above.
There is a quiet precision in the joinery, where the variegated grain of the aged teak flows seamlessly across the surfaces, grounding the upright geometry of the frame. Supported by signature short tapered legs, it functions as a disciplined 360-degree stage for a collection, retaining the warmth and permanence of a high-end vintage heirloom.
