A modern revival of the early 20th-century travelling trunk showcase crossed with the candid spirit of schoolroom show-and-tell.
On 5th September, our Tan Boon Liat showroom transforms into a convivial afternoon salon. We have invited five respected design voices, editors, and tastemakers—Asih Jenie, Lauren Cheung, Natasha Zachariah & Annabel Lim, and Li Hui Khoo—to open their personal archives. Expect an edited market of pre-loved collectible design objects and curated wardrobe staples.
The Format

The Show: Each guest curator takes over a dedicated dining setting across the Journey East showroom floor, styling and retailing an intimate personal selection directly to visitors.

The Tell: Throughout the afternoon, our guest curators take to the floor mic for casual, 10-minute storytelling sessions—sharing the stories and personal histories behind their most cherished finds.

The Curators & Their Edits
Asih Jenie
Journalist and textile enthusiast Asih Jenie grew up wondering if one could wear beautiful paintings as clothes—a childhood fascination realized through the intricate, hand-drawn artistry of Indonesian batik and Japanese kimonos. For Trunk Show & Tell, Asih opens her personal archive to share handmade silk kimonos spanning casual daywear, occasion pieces, and formal wedding robes. Finished with techniques like delicate embroidery, tie-dye, gold leafing, and mother-of-pearl inlay, these works are equally suited for distinctive styling or reimagining as framed interior textiles.
Lauren Cheung 
Artist and collector Lauren Cheung (@dirtydoodies), co-creator of the design-led home account @flat_bahru, brings an intuitive, graphic sensibility to everyday objects. Her visual universe balances bold, figurative line work with an eye for the quirky and characterful. Lauren's edit presents a vibrant cross-section of original art prints, curated apparel, and unusual tabletop tchotchkes and glassware ready to bring humor and personality into a new space.
Natasha Zachariah & Annabel Lim 
Longtime friends, style enthusiasts, and self-professed shopaholics Natasha Zachariah and Annabel Lim join forces for a candid, pre-loved closet purge. Their combined racks bring together barely worn wardrobe favorites and modern, relaxed silhouettes from labels like COS, Beyond The Vines, ASOS, and Primark, paired with classic bags (including Coach), fragrances, and lifestyle accessories.
Li Hui Khoo
Collector Li Hui Khoo (@denimwings) is drawn to the quiet beauty of authentic patina, subtle indigo fades, and time-tested construction. Opening up her personal wardrobe, Li Hui presents a specialized edit centered on cult Japanese heritage labels, rare textiles, and artisanal leathercraft. Highlights include a coveted Warehouse Lot S2000XX denim jacket, Brother Bridge horsehide teacore leather loafers, a Vasco Nelson leather bag, and a bespoke casquette crafted from antique Japanese silk cloth, alongside a select few collectible KAWS pieces.
