About the artist:

Showfu, a Japanese calligraphy artist currently residing in Singapore, embarked on her artistic journey at the age of 5 when her mother, a professional calligrapher with the same pen name 祥風, introduced her to the captivating world of calligraphy. Showfu's creative odyssey took an intriguing turn when she moved to Belgium, immersing herself in the realms of fine arts, ceramics, and the history of art, refining her creative sensibilities.

After dedicating 14 years to the Shipping & Maritime industry, Showfu's passion for calligraphy was rekindled. She pursued Japanese and Chinese Calligraphy mastery at a prestigious organization in Tokyo, earning the title of Master of Calligraphy.

It was when she relocated to Singapore in 2021 that she decided to found “Nikon Inktion” to channel her enduring passion for calligraphy. In Zen, the term '而今' (Nikon) carries profound significance, symbolising 'this very moment.' It transcends the boundaries of the past and the future, encapsulating the essence of 'NOW.' Showfu's approach to calligraphy aligns with this philosophy, recognising it as a fleeting art form, born in a singular moment yet unalterable over time.

In each stroke, Showfu endeavors to encapsulate the entirety of the present moment―unyielding passion, emotions, intuition, experiences, and hopes. This dedicated approach renders each of her creations uniquely irreplaceable.
